BAKUKIRI FICS

KATSUKI WHUMP

hunger.

mercur1al

Bakugou suffers from an eating disorder, childhood trauma, and at the hands of everyone who sees him as a villain.

To Forgive and Forget (Not Necessarily in that Order)

stevie_writes_stuff

Bakugou can’t tell if everyone a.) forgot his birthday, b.) doesn’t care about his birthday, or c.) is just ignoring his birthday because he’s a dick who doesn’t deserve people who care. What’s worse, he doesn’t understand why /he/ cares so much.

KBstories

“Bakugou will know what to do. Top of the class, always quick on his feet and possessing the strongest nerves in all of 1-A – all of U.A., possibly. They’re at their most invincible with Bakugou there to hone their focus, to push them forward with that unique kind of teeth-bared tenacity Kaminari has come to rely on in the past year. When Kaminari looks, he sees–

Iida, helmet off, severe face twisted with agitation as he argues with the medics on the scene. Blood, so much blood, staining the gleaming chrome of his armor up to his neck in wet, intersecting streaks of crimson.

And in his arms, mask torn and body limp, is Bakugou Katsuki.”

In which disaster strikes, the Bakusquad comes together as a family once more, and Kaminari Denki is the MVP all the way through.

impression//expression

KBstories

"It’s not like Kirishima had come all this way to U.A. to immediately break the promise he made to himself upon arrival.

It’s just that Bakugou is as feral as they come, and the moment Kirishima recognizes it’s fear he felt crawling up his spine that day, he makes it his personal mission to face it head-on until it’s gone."

Being friends with Bakugou Katsuki is anything but a linear experience. Kirishima Eijirou would have it no other way.

Serial Doubter

humanities_angstiest

“The quirk…” Monoma pauses. His irritation ebbs away and his grin reforms, likely taking pleasure in making Katsuki wait. “...lets you hear people’s thoughts about you.” “Tch, what a stupid quirk,” Katsuki scoffs. Now that he knows the quirk he’s been hit with is nothing worth killing over, he takes a step back from Monoma. “Like I give a fuck what people think about me.” By ‘people’, Katsuki means strangers and extras he doesn’t care about. The members of class 2-A don’t fall into either of those categories.

"Bakugou is wearing a tie.

Ashido tries not to stare, she really does. There should be a thousand things on her mind right now — they are on her mind, her brain is so cluttered it's bound to burst at the seams any moment — but Bakugou is wearing his tie and it's such a jarring sight, it temporarily kicks anything else out of her skull.

One glance, and Ashido's heart squeezes tight enough to hurt. Bakugou looks so, so uncomfortable."

Bakugou Katsuki pushes himself too far. Ashido Mina won’t let him face the echoes of his past alone.

They drag him out of the hospital in handcuffs, and he'll later learn that the entire place went on lockdown because of him, but he can't bring himself to care. He curses at the security officer wrestling his hands behind his back, curses at everybody he sees, hisses and spits as he damns Bakugou Mitsuki to the lowest pits of Hell, the slightly smug look on her face doing absolutely nothing to calm the rage roaring inside of him. Eijirou gets shoved into the back of a police cruiser, and he spends his overnight stay at the precinct kicking at the bars of his holding cell and screaming himself hoarse.

Bakugou is in a coma, Eijirou is suitably pissed, and absolutely nothing is okay.

Burn Out

Amberia_Lynn

"Let's sit you down, okay?" Kirishima said calmly. "You're gonna be fine."

He started to gently pull Bakugou towards him, but the blond managed to tear his arm free of Kirishima's grasp, shaking his head and suddenly struggling for air.

"I feel ...," he started, and Kirishima's chest tightened at how slurred the words came tumbling from his lips. "I feel -", he tried again, but then red eyes rolled back in his skull and he swayed too far to the side and then he dropped.

Seen and Not Heard

NotWithThatAttitude

Bakugou gets hit with a quirk that manifests his emotions as colors. He isn't happy about it.

Feeling Lucky

stevie_writes_stuff

“You know why I chose you, DynaMight?” the villain asked, his crooked teeth bared as his smile only grew. “My quirk is Luck. But unfortunately, I don’t have much of that. I can only steal it from someone else, and you’re one lucky son of a bitch. DynaMight always wins, ain’t that right?”

fight because you don’t know how to die quietly

Katsuki did everything brightly, in a flash of brilliance and a show of strength.

He wondered if he’d die the same way.

"It starts, as all terrible things do, with Monoma. Stupid, shitty, copycat motherfucker Monoma, who trained his stupid, shitty copycat quirk to the point he can give someone else the duplicated quirk for a maximum of two full days. By the time Bakugou realized Monoma wasn't simply playing tag with their visitor from Otheon, Monoma's bare palm had slapped his shoulder in passing— and Dynamy manifested out of thin air, only Bakugou's quick reflexes preventing the creature from dropping to the ground."

Your Life Is Worth A Mission

Orphic_Ozone

Katsuki is contacted by the Hero Public Safety Commission about a secret mission he is going to be a part of. The thing is, he's not allowed to tell anyone about it.

"You can go now, Bakugo."

orphan_account

Katsuki Bakugo gets caught up in a villain attack, shot and wounded. After Aizawa hears the pained screams from the blonde boy, he rushes to the rescue. The poisoned bullets were enough to kill anyone in an instant, yet Bakugo Katsuki seems to fight it off for a while. He seems to be dying and coming back to life as he waits to say his final goodbyes to Kirishima Ejirou, his best friend.

“I’m not dead,” he says, but it still almost sounds like a question.
“Not according to your vitals. Do you think you should be?”
Katsuki seems to consider that for a moment, eyebrows creasing as he tries to think back. He winces. “Yeah. Probably.”

Trauma and Drama

KBstories

"Kirishima slams his hardened fists together, grinning at Bakugou. 'Ready to beg for mercy, man?'

'Tch', goes Bakugou, cracking his neck and flicking a shower of sparks into the camera for show. His gaze has a feral glint to it, lips pulling back until his canines are bared. 'Think you'll still be manly in Heaven, Riot?' Mina, between them with her arms outstretched and dressed in sleek black, intones: 'Remember the rules. Three rounds. No quirks, no biting, nutshots or hair-pulling. Play fair, gentlemen.' Kirishima laughs, 'Mina, please.' Huffing, Bakugou rolls his eyes, meets Kirishima's fist in the middle for a quick tap to agree to those conditions.

'Stop saying obvious shit. Let's fucking go!'" Kirishima and Bakugou have sparred a thousand times in the past three years. Unfortunately, surprises still happen.

speak into the silence

rosedvst

It’s odd, hearing Bakugou speak so calmly about death and loss. Bakugou is all fire and rage and sparks flying from the palms of his hands, fighting tooth and nail to be the best, to be number one, to survive another day. But now, in this isolated and frigid cave, he is cool, he is collected, he has accepted that he may very well die in excruciating pain without seeing the love of his life again. And it kills Kaminari.

The Kids Will Be Alright, Eventually

NotWithThatAttitude

Bakugou is spiraling in the aftermath of Kamino and his friends are starting to notice. He's stubborn, aggressively independent, and less than willing to dig into his past, but after a breakdown that ends with a painfull secret revealed, he starts to get help. Whether he likes it or not. Meanwhile, a new kind of villain threatens an uneasy peace following the loss of Allmight. Whispers build as a new narrative slowly takes shape:
Hero society needs to change.

krbksmadness

And at that very moment, with his bloody neck and his torn belly, Katsuki smiled.

“E-Ei..” He choked out, his vision getting blurry.
Eijirou stood up automatically.

“K-Katsuki ? S-stop talking, it’ll hurt-”

“Ei. Marry me.”

Eijiro Is the Best Medicine

quirkle

Katsuki had only gotten a faded reflection in a train window to see how bad he looked, and that had only given so much insight, but he knew for a fact that he was shivering, teeth chattering, and him and his costume sopping wet and producing a puddle of muddy rain water on the wooden floors. He didn’t exactly blame Eijiro for being worried.

Ignoring Kirishima's call, he slunk into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. He peeled his mask from his face, pressing the palms of his hands into his eyes to combat the growing pressure in his skull.

It had been a bad day. He had failed catastrophically and everyone - everyone - knew.

Arms are meant for Workin' not Walkin' and definitely not for Flyin'

Pariscite (orphan_account)

Of course Bakugou had been dumb enough to "accidentally" forget about one of the primary drawbacks of his quirk.

Of course no one else even knew about it. And, of course, that drawback had to manifest at the most annoying damn time and cause everyone to be weird about it. Its not like he didn't deserve it. He should have been more careful.

You Need To Relax

Emily_WritesStuff

Bakugou Katsuki has always been uptight.

Maybe there's a specific reason he always looks so tense? Kirishima wants to be the friend to help.

The Smog In My Lungs

bananaboatbussin

Bakugou almost isn’t surprised. The way his life has been going since the last year of middle school, a small part of him says “yeah, this might as well be happening”. The rest of him isn’t quite so calm. Getting attacked by the sludge villain, making a fool of himself for all of Japan to see at the Sports Festival, being actually kidnapped, and failing his provisional license exam might be bad, but this surely takes the cake. Bakugou is diagnosed with lung cancer.

Villain

22vent22

It's while training when he finally snaps. His baggy sweatpants have just been torn during a spar and suddenly everyone's gawking at his legs and he feels dizzy. He sways and he sways and he falls, losing consciousness while staring at Aizawa's look of fear and hearing Deku's pained "Kacchan?"

He thinks about Kirishima's smile as everything fades to black. Wonders why he is bad. How could he be good? Please could somebody stop him?

When he wakes up there will be talking and Katsuki is far too tired so for now he lets himself sleep.

Could you repeat that?

orphan_account

“Bakugou Katsuki was perfectly fine. Okay sure, maybe he’d had to ask his colleagues to repeat something one too many times and maybe he’d missed the sound of his oven beeping from the other room and obliterated his cookies, but those were just stupid coincidences right? The ringing in his ears was just from exhaustion right?”

"'You're weak. You're defenseless. You can't even protect yourself. How are you supposed to protect others?'

The phrases repeated themselves in Bakugou's head like a mantra. Normally, they would've infuriated him—but this time, he could only feel that they were right." Bakugou gets kidnapped and no one notices except Kirishima.

Gave It Everything He Had... And Everything He Didn't

messedupstargazer

Bakugou was burning.

His fever had steadily grown since Toshinori found him and the former hero worried desperately for his young student. Izuku had told him about sharing One for All with young Bakugou, about how it was the only way to win, and at the moment, there was no medical help that could potentially heal the damage One for All inflicted. Izuku, while his body was more equipped to deal with the damage One for All could cause, still lay unconscious at Toshinori’s feet, but his body wasn’t raging with fever already like Bakugou’s was. He hoped it was simply due to young Bakugou’s quirk, as his power was manufactured by his sweat, and that One for All simply amplified Bakugou’s body temperature to adapt and the fever would burn itself out soon. But Toshinori couldn’t find himself truly believing the hope as Bakugou’s fever seemed to only be getting worse since he found the boy.

KBstories

"Kirishima wants to be a Hero, wants it bad enough to hurt – but he isn’t worthy of the title, will never be worthy, not like this. He takes his eraser to the form until his dream is caught up in clumps of rubber dust, swept aside with the back of his hand. Doroido Technical, he writes over the faint traces left behind. Not everyone is made to be a Hero. The earlier Kirishima accepts that reality, the better." In another life, Kirishima Eijirou didn’t apply for U.A. and he didn’t become a Hero. Years later, his local Pro Hero Dynamight finds himself hopelessly outgunned — and Kirishima faces a choice once more: to run away, or stand his ground and help?

When you need me

sunflowerstorm

Rule 72A was for ensuring that pro heroes didn’t suffer from the occasionally extreme mental load of their work by allowing emergency responders to assign a 24hour watch over heroes they believed ‘at risk’.

When this rule is applied to Bakugo after a run in with a villain with a Nightmare quirk, he is not at all pleased, all he wanted was to go home by himself and try and forget everything that'd happened. But turns out when that rule means having Kirishima with him, it is exactly what he needs.

KiriBaku [Whump]-Shots

stevie_writes_stuff

Just a bunch of one-shots torturing my favorite boys. No death, nothing too graphic, and no sad endings. Just some good ole fashioned whump with little plots and a sprinkle of suffering.

1. Bakugou gets a little tied up, and it’s the Bakusquad to the rescue.
2. Bakugou is forced to choose who dies—Deku or Kirishima.
3. Bakugou and Kirishima are attacked by thugs while on a date in the park.
4. The boys are stuck beneath a collapsed building and time is not on their side.
5. Kirishima is hit by a monstrous quirk-enhancing drug.
6. Kirishima is left wounded by one of Bakugou’s explosions.
7. Bakugou is hit by a quirk that paralyzes him.
8. Kirishima had been tied up and beaten, held hostage for a ransom. Time is running out.
9. The boys are hit by a body swapping quirk while still in a training exercise.
10. Bakugou has a run in with Toga, who plans to drink him up and use him as bait.

Slip Up - Kiribaku Angst Oneshot

orphan_account

Bakugou was panicking. This was unlike him when he was chasing a villain as most of the time he had his partner with him, but this time was different. They were after a villain that had shown up out of the blue, all anyone knew about them was that they were dangerous and that was enough to have the city on lockdown until they were apprehended. A fuck up. One small, simple mistake caused Bakugou and Kirishima to get separated during a mission and everything went to shit.
